Truly I cant express how much I love this game. But for those who are new to the game, or looking to buy it I can try to explain my first experience of the game to give you to show you what your first experience with DST might be like.

Whilst the concept of this game (to not starve) is extremely simple and pretty straight forward as you spawn into your first world. You will feel daunted with the many tasks ahead of you as the game does not teach you, there's no tutorial, not one line of text.

So, on your own (or with a friend) you must figure out how to survive. The first of 4 seasons (Autumn) is pretty forgiving and gives you the required space and time to learn the world around you in relative peace. But as you start to understand a little how it works Winter arrives. From winter i learned that the game might not actually be as easy as I may have initially thought and thus, I would soon enough meet my fate and die for being ill-prepared for the season.

I did not learn to play this game through guides or tutorials (excluding the DST-wiki), but through trial and error. I have created many new worlds only to fail once more. And I'm still going. Even tho I have mastered to survive all seasons and I could say that I should technically never die yet i still die often enough.

To survive the seasons is only one challenge the game offers and later on you might even come to the conclusion that its one of the easier ones. Even tho you might be struggling a lot in the beginning there is so much more to come if you are willing to stay devoted and keep trying. Even with 960 hrs in the game there are still things I am learning or improving at.

I'dd reckon you (or anyone) can like this game if they are willing to go through a process of trial and error, to fail and get back up, not once, not twice but 50 times. if you stay devoted and eager to learn and master the game, even if that might take time. Then... Then you're gonna have a blast.

That's not to say or imply you can't enjoy it if you look up guides or start playing with a (very) experienced friend. but i have tried to get friends to play DST and almost all of them end up not playing as they don't have a single clue whats going on and don't wanna spend the time and effort to learn it either.

So. Experience from others means nothing. I can try my best to teach but I can not stop my friends from dying. (Honest, I'm good ;) . Even if i teach them EVERYTHING beforehand. You'll definetly need a certain level of endurance and devotion to truly master and enjoy this game.

- If you don't like failing a lot, to not know how certain things are going to work out, what they will do or what their purpose is. To ask yourself; "what is this?" a LOT of times.
i wouldn't recommend the game.

- If you're okay with trial and error, to try things unknown to you, to be thrown in a game so full of content that you're probably gonna feel extremely lost the first 15 times you create a world and probably need to look at DST wiki-pages a lot. Then yes, Get...This...Game!
